it's always nice to pull on the reins as much as possible when a horse acts up... it really gets the message to calm down straight across... this rider needs a few more lessons.

I'm the rider and I've been riding all my life.
I was getting him to sidepass along over that pole on the ground.
He's new to neckreining, so he wasn't used to it yet. This was only a fun show and I'm training him.

You're supposed to pull that direction when you're getting a horse to sidepass.

Do you ride horses?

You're supposed to use your wrists and your hands, not your arms. That's what I'm saying. You removed your hands from their positions.

I've been riding, as you said, all my life. I also train horses and give riding lessons. With the way your horse pulled his head, I'd use a tiedown and less pressure on the bit. Use your legs more. It's western, not English.
